Summer drinks – Minty Watermelon Strawberry Smoothie

Summer drinks – Minty Watermelon Strawberry Smoothie

The last week, I’ve notice that social media and my Instagram feed have been flooded with statuses on “the end of the summer drawing near”. Instead of looking at it as the end of sun, warmth, holiday and tropical treats, let us keep our bodies and minds in their summer’s best with those seasonal foods that are still out there, and on the cheap!

This Minty Watermelon Strawberry Smoothie is one of the easiest and most refreshing drinks this season while packed with vitamins, antioxidants, and other healthy nutrients. It’s perfect for  Monday morning or any low moments in the week to remind your body that summer energy is still around.

The ingredients are simple and should still be abundantly on offer at your local groceries or supermarkets

A box of strawberries cost €1-2 here in Holland. They are known for heart-healthy antioxidants, skin benefits, vitamin C, potassium and magnesium contents.

Watermelon, thanks to its high water content, is the number 1 hydrating fruit while containing tonnes of vitamins C, A, and antioxidants

Add some chia seeds or any other #superseeds such as flax- or hemp-seeds to boost your glass with extra protein, healthy fats, and fiber. I usually drink smoothie in the morning, just after my sunrise workout and before breakfast.
